Dr. Thomas Rautenberg‘s main areas of expertise comprise public law, real estate projects and the public sector, in particular public construction-, planning- and environmental law and project development. His advice extends to all public-law questions in connection with real estate developments and transactions, including the drafting of urban development contracts, implementation agreements and neighborhood contracts, the advice on local infrastructure contracts, building permits, official planning approval, law on public and municipality fees, and the enforcement and defense of building rights before authorities and courts. He has broad experience in the building regulatory elements of large real estate transactions.

Dr. Thomas Rautenberg obtained his law degree at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt Main and his doctorate in 1988 on a topic concerning the environmental planning in the German state of Hessia. From 1989 until 2001 he was head of a municipal planning and environmental authority in the region of Frankfurt Main (Umlandverband Frankfurt). In 2001 he joined Baker & McKenzie as Off Counsel. Subsequently he founded the boutique law firm Iur-Realis exclusively providing real estate legal services in Frankfurt with other colleagues. Thomas Rautenberg joined Aderhold Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in April 2017 as Of Counsel.
